Use a damp sponge and then a dry towel to remove any soap residue after roughly twenty minutes have passed since your previous soapy wash. To remove all the residue, you might need to repeat this process.

You should first rinse the area with a solution of soap and water that contains about 1-2 tablespoons of detergent per gallon of water if you used epoxy grout or solvent-based grout.
