That said, the materials for the furniture should be made of neutral waterproof fabric or wicker to withstand the rigors of the outdoors.

You don’t necessarily have to install a fence around  the deck to make it private. Privacy plants are a great alternative. They are actually even better as they add some much-needed greenery to your home. Boxwood is the usual choice, but you can also try bamboo if you want a taller privacy plant.

3.    Steps for Elevated Deck

Elevated decks add dimension to your garden and backyard, but because they are a few levels above the garden means they often look out of place or distant. You can rectify this by adding steps to bridge the space between the yard and the deck itself. The steps themselves are great places to add some lighting to make your outdoor space brighter.

4.    Wooden Lattice

A wooden lattice is a great add-on if you want to create an illusion of a wall on your deck. They are functional as they are attractive too, as you can “install” climbing plants like climbing roses or clematis to adorn them
