Important Announcement to Our Valued Customers!

Announcement

Dear Valued Customer,

Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.

For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.

Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.

Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.

We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.

Sincerely,

George Brisker

Dependable Tips on How to Choose a Kitchen Countertop in Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Nearby Cities

Your kitchen renovation has a large decision you will need to make. Essential to the design, feel, and use of your kitchen, a kitchen countertop is something you will need to know how to pick out. The durability, how it will work in your home, and more, are all things you need to think about and choose from while making this choice. Here are some tips on how to pick out your kitchen countertop.

The Kitchen Countertop and Colors

Did you know that the color of your countertop can have a big impact on your room? Bold colors are becoming a recent trend but let’s look at the basics:

  • Dark colors make a room look smaller.
  • Dark colors outside will get hot in direct sunlight.
  • Light colors make a room look bigger.
  • Light colors will stay cool in direct sunlight.

Pay attention to what shades can heat up in the sunlight if you are picking out the counter for an outdoor kitchen.

Materials

There are many materials to choose from with your kitchen countertop.

  • Butcher’s Block
  • Stainless Steel
  • Laminates
  • Ceramic Tile
  • Marble
  • Granite
  • Soapstone
  • Quartz Engineered Stone

Each kind of material has its pros and cons. It’s important to ask questions about each one while shopping around to see what will work the best for you. If you want a durable counter you can cut and prepare your food directly on, marble and quartz is a great option. Some need more care such as the soapstone and butcher’s block that requires occasional oiling.

Once you have picked out the kitchen countertop for you, be sure to select a backsplash if you counter does not already come with one. Enjoy the range of colors, materials, and styles to choose from. Once you have your countertop picked out, your kitchen will be finished in no time.
