Important Announcement to Our Valued Customers!

Dear Valued Customer,

Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.

For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.

Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.

Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.

We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.

Affordable Ways to Make Your Fireplace More Beautiful

It’s a good idea to upgrade your fireplace and make it look more appealing because it can serve as the centerpiece for your living room area. A beautiful fireplace can tie a room together, grab attention, and serve as an excellent spot for your and your family to gather and relax. Today, Handyman Connection of Mountain View will discuss affordable fireplace upgrade ideas:

  • Use Contrast to Your Advantage – The right color choices can make your fireplace look dramatic and more interesting. For instance, instead of using a dull white surround and beige wall, you can paint the wall black and use gray stone-veneer. You can also use other contrasting colors depending on the room’s color scheme.
  • Paint Your Fireplace – You can turn your fireplace into a work of art by painting murals above it and by decorating the interior. One fun idea is painting a log on the interior so there’s always something present in the fireplace even when you aren’t using it. You can also use this chance to play tricks on perspective using art.
  • Use Your Fireplace as a Backdrop – Fireplaces can also serve as an excellent backdrop for tightly grouped collections of artwork or decorative materials. You can replicate this look while on a budget by buying art books, cutting out the pages, and framing them. Then simply surround decorate the fireplace wall with the art.
  • Whitewash Your Fireplace On a Budget – You can make your fireplace brighter by brushing white paint with an eggshell finish on small sections, and then wiping it down with rags to remove most of the paint. We suggest doing this two times. You can then use a medium grit sanding sponge to sand all over the bricks for a finishing touch. This makes sure that the fireplace still has a rich texture.
