Important Announcement to Our Valued Customers!

Announcement

Dear Valued Customer,

Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.

For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.

Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.

Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.

We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.

Sincerely,

George Brisker

Keeping Your Home Safe During the Holidays

As the holiday season is practically here, chances are you are ready for them. Don’t forget that although the season brings lots of joy and good times, it’s also a time to take extra safety precautions. There is a huge jump in reported home robberies during the months of November and December. That’s because those who break into homes notice that many people are traveling during these times, therefore it’s important to take extra security measures around your home before heading out. Our crew here at Handyman Connection of Mountain View has put together a few pro tips to help keep your home secure and safe this holiday season.

As You Prepare to Leave

As you are heading out of the house whether it be for an extended trip away or just to head to the grocery store, treat your lock up strategy the same. It’s recommended that before the holiday season arrives, that you do a really thorough check on your home’s exterior locks on all doors and windows. Additionally, if you are heading out of town for an extended period of time, our crew here in Mountain View would always recommend asking a trusted neighbor or friend to come by your home each day you are gone so that they can pick up any papers or mail. Multiple newspapers left in the front yard can indicate that you might not be home, which could lead to burglars identifying your home as a potential target for their next robbery. Also, we would recommend leaving a TV or radio on so that it appears as if someone is home, even if you aren’t.

Keep It Secure

Regardless of how long you expect to be gone, make sure that every single time you leave your home; you are locking it up securely. If you’ve followed our advice from the previous section, remember that it’s extremely important to lock up your home each time you leave. You’ve done your diligence. You’ve checked all of your locks… Now use them.

Keep Your Displays Inside

Don’t forget that it’s also extremely important to keep your interior, inside. That means that you should be very careful with what you display in your front windows. Strategically place your tree and gifts so that it is not easily seen from the front of the house. This could also be away for burglars to target your home.

Automated Features

By incorporating automated features such as auto timers on lights, you’ll protect your home without much effort on your part. Automated timers can also give the illusion that you are home, even if you aren’t. We’d highly recommend installing automated light timers in your home this holiday season.

At Handyman Connection of Mountain View, our goal is to help make your life a little easier during the holidays. Make sure to take these safety precautions during the holidays, and also throughout the year so that you can focus on the fun of the holiday season.
