Dear Valued Customer,
Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.
For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.
Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.
Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.
We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.
Sincerely,
George Brisker

Everyone’s favorite time of the year is fast approaching. The holidays are a time to celebrate family, joy, and hope… and the fantastic decorations in your home! As you start pulling old decorations out of the basement or attic, and begin to think about how you’d like to decorate this holiday season, consider some of these tips that our crew at Handyman Connection of Mountain View has put together for you. These suggestions and recommendations are sure to help make your holiday decoration process a breeze.
Holiday Smells
When some people think about their favorite part of the holidays, they think about the nostalgic smells that come along with this time of the year. Play up to that thought, and don’t hold back on encouraging the smells all throughout your home. You can purchase holiday-scented candles such as sugar cookie, apple pie spiced, pine needle, and many others. Additionally, you can create your own smells by simmering things like orange and lemon peels, cloves, cinnamon sticks, with warm water. This is an expensive, but impactful idea to remember as you decorate your home.
Holiday Greenery
Many associate the color “red” with the holidays, but don’t forget about green. We’re talking about the natural stuff too. Add natural plant life into your home to tie into your holiday decoration themes. You can DIY your own garlands and wreaths for a fun, and beautiful activity. There are many seasonal plants and flowers that can do wonders to the décor and theme throughout your home. Also, if you’re planning to have a tree in your home during the season, consider a live tree, as the scents and the living plant will create a beautiful, airy touch to your home.
Holiday Simplicity
Our crew here in Mountain View always recommends this one. Keep your decorations simple. This goes for design themes throughout the year, but also during the holidays. Keeping it simple allows you to transform some of your current decorations into holiday decorations by a couple of simple adjustments. Simplicity will allow for more featured elements, a more inexpensive approach, and a lovely, cohesive theme throughout your home.
Holiday Trends
Keeping up with the latest trends can be exhausting, but we’ve noticed that there are some trends that keep popping up each year, therefore you can’t go wrong incorporating them into your holiday decorations. One of our favorite trends is the utilization of loud, metallics such as silver and gold with glitter. By featuring these items on tablescapes, you’ll really make your design and decoration efforts pop. Additionally, snow globe-themed decorations are also a consistent trend that is easily incorporated into decorations inexpensively.
Holiday Creativity.
Don’t be shy by sticking to the same old, boring symmetrical objects and featured elements. Use decorations with varying textures and heights to create unique styles and to draw attention to your hard work. You can easily transform an area by throwing a few different textures in or around it to bring your ideas to life. For example, instead of just hanging a garland up on your banister, hang family photos, feed ribbon through, and incorporate holiday twinkle lights to really bring your décor to the next level. Let your creativity shine!
At Handyman Connection of Mountain View, we are here to help with your home project or maintenance needs during the holidays, and throughout the rest of the year!
