Dear Valued Customer,
Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.
For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.
Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.
Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.
We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.
Sincerely,
George Brisker

Decks / October 14, 2016
One of the most popular hangout places of any home is the deck. The personal touch and fun atmosphere is a great place to relax or entertain and is a great investment. Regardless of how you’d like to utilize your deck and if you’re considering some upgrades or modifications, the crew at Handyman Connection of Mountain View are here to help keep you up to date with some of the hottest trends in home decks. Check them out!
Automated Features
A really fun, popular trend is to incorporate automated functions and features into your deck. This is a great idea for those looking to enhance their current deck and take it to the next level. These types of functions can range from automated lighting to grill enhancements to TV entertainment systems. One of the most popular is installing TV entertainment systems that automatically hide. This is great for colder months and help to protect the system too. There are many different styles of automated functions available, however most of our homeowners here in Mountain View tend to go with more customized options.
Deck Railings and Continued Expansion
One of the hottest trends right now is to create and add onto the deck you currently have as adding square footage is great for the overall look, use, and home’s value. It’s fairly simple once everything is properly mapped out and planned. We can help with this, so if this is something you’re considering, give us a call!
Additionally, installing upgrades to your deck such as replacing those drab wooden beams with iron deck railings is another popular trend. These types of railings and upgrades really stand out and compliment the modern and contemporary styles that are continuously becoming more and more popular.
Multi-Level Decks
To go along with the expansions trend, we’re beginning to see an increased trend in multi-level decks. This concept can range from an actual two or three story deck, to the addition of a slightly elevated deck add-on in a corner that just seems to be missing something. This will significantly drive up the value of your home, and will create lots of space to entertain.
Disguises or Magic?
Another really fun trend we’re seeing right now is incorporating unique design features and disguising them as part of the deck flooring. It’s not magic; it’s just a disguise! For example, some decks actually have pools built into them and can be covered up with automated deck flooring. This creates a multi-functional space, while protecting the pool and being able to use the space in the colder months. What a cool idea!
There are lots of other design trends that are becoming more popular in home decks, but those are some of Handyman Connection of Mountain View’s favorites. Be sure to give us a call if you’re considering upgrades to your current deck, or are looking to install a new deck. We specialize in home maintenance projects regardless of how large or small the project may be. We look forward to your next project!
