Bedroom Style Trends

We’re keeping up with the trend theme this month at Handyman Connection of Mountain View, as we’ve put together some of our favorite bedroom design trends that we’re sure you’ll love. Whether you’re looking to revamp your existing bedroom, or are starting from scratch, these are some of the more popular trends to get your creativity flowing and to help create your dream home.

Mix Match & Bright Colors

You’ll start to notice that matching has become less of a requirement, and more of a personal preference. Although lots of bedrooms have matching furniture and décor, there’s been a trend in mix matching different styles of these items to create something unique, rustic, and fun. Additionally, throwing some bright colors into the mix is a great way to bring some light fun into the room. An example of this is incorporating an aqua colored nightstand next to a gold plated mirror with purple flowers all together.

Serene and Simple

Another very popular style of bedroom is the “serene” theme. This includes incorporating light colors such as white, cream, and other nude or natural colors to create a nice airy feel to the room. When you come home from a long day, it’s always nice to come back to your serene, calm bedroom and this is a great concept to make that idea a reality.

Multi Purpose Space

Depending on the size of your bedroom, developing the space into a multi purpose area is a popular trend. This could include a little nook for reading, a desk with an office area, a vanity mirror, or a sunroom. Regardless of what you choose to do with the space, utilizing as much space as you can without being cramped is always ideal and recommended.

Cottage Style

Another style of bedrooms that the crew at Handyman Connection of Mountain View has found to be popular is the cottage style. Think of the type of décor you find at a cottage in the mountains or a quaint bed and breakfast. Again, this is consistent with the concept of being as relaxed as possible in your dream bedroom. The cottage style bedroom provides a charming, simple, and refined look through incorporating natural light, soft colors, and unique furniture.

Wallpaper

Last on our list, but not the least important is incorporating wallpaper into your home. As much as you may not believe it, wallpaper has become a comeback trend that is expected to be incorporated into homes more frequently.
