Bathroom Remodeling Tips: Choosing a Bathroom Tile

Your bathroom’s design plays an important role in creating a relaxing spa-like atmosphere. The bathroom is supposed to be your personal sanctuary within your home. That’s why it’s important that you create a relaxing atmosphere that can help you and your guests feel more at ease.

If you’re planning a bathroom remodel or upgrading your bathroom’s look, don’t underestimate the importance of your bathroom tile designs. To help you get started on your remodel, here are some tips to keep in mind when choosing new tiles for your bathroom:

Choose Lighter Colors

Despite being one of the most frequently used rooms, bathrooms usually have very limited floor space. Fortunately, there are ways to make your bathroom feel spacious without having to expand the actual floor space. One of them is to use lighter colors – the lighter the color is, the more light it reflects, and the better it can maximize the illusion of larger space that’s created by natural light.

Most remodelers would recommend choosing soft tones of off-white, blue and green. If you want to add a bit of personality to soft shades of color, you can always add bold accents. However, coordinating colors can be tricky, which is why it’s best to consult a professional bathroom remodeler before finalizing the color scheme for your bathroom.

Stick to a Neutral Color Scheme

Bright and bold colors help your bathroom design stand out, but the problem with these colors is that they tend to go out of style quickly. Neutral colors, on the other hand, have a classic appeal and will never go out of style. As such, if you want to maximize the return on a bathroom remodel, you might want to stick to a neutral color scheme.

Don’t Go Overboard With the Tile Patterns

Minimizing physical and visual clutter can also help enhance the illusion of a larger bathroom. That’s why it’s important not to go overboard with the tile patterns. It’s best to stick with the rule of threes: there should be only one cohesive tile pattern for the walls, the floor and design accents.
