4 Ways to Better Organize a Kid’s Bedroom

Of all the rooms in your house, the one where your kids sleep will probably be the messiest. From toys scattered about to closets that look like hampers, it’s tough keeping their bedrooms tidy. It pays to teach them to be more organized, but this is easier said than done.

In this post, Handyman Connection® of Rockville shares four ways to better organize a kids’ bedroom.

1. Storage in the Play Area

The simplest way to get your kids to pick up after themselves is to make the storage a part of their play area. It can be as simple as installing standing baskets near the play area or integrating the toy box with the closet and drawers.

2. Labeling Helps

Another way to help your kids be more organized is by labeling everything from the toy boxes to the drawers where their clothes are stored. It’s a time-saver for both you and your kids. Not only does it help your kids know where to put things but you also won’t have to spend that extra 10 minutes looking for their favorite shirt or dress when they go to school.

3. Invest in Under-Bed Drawers

The space under the bed is a great storage spot, but more often than not, your kids just hastily shove things there making a mess. Under-bed drawers are a storage lifesaver and a great addition to a kid’s bedroom. Not only are they easy to access but the stuff they put under the bed is also better organized, too.

4. Designate Play Areas

Finally, it’s a good idea to designate and establish a certain part of the room that’s solely for play and activities. Play tables are a great way to do this, and you don’t necessarily have to purchase a new one. You can repurpose an old coffee table, give it a fresh coat of paint, and use it as a play table for your kids.
