1. Set a Budget
   • While you may not think of landscape lighting as the most expensive home renovation, the costs can easily add up. This is particularly true if you are adding an electrical wiring or outlets.  Set your budget at the beginning so that you can know how to plan accordingly.  There are beautiful landscape lighting options for any budget, from solar lights or twinkle lights that are basically “plug and play,” to hardwired landscape lighting that is a little more in depth.
2. Mix It Up
   • When it comes to landscape lighting, one of the best ways to create visual interest and beauty is to vary the types of lighting. Some should serve as safety lighting and may be brighter – lighting pathways and providing visibility, while other types may be more subtle and should serve the purpose of enhancing landscape beauty and providing ambiance.  Vary the types and brightness for the most beautiful landscape lighting.

   • While one giant floodlight may provide adequate lighting, it will not exactly look beautiful or enhance your landscape. The most beautifully designed lighting is placed in a variety of locations including pathways, driveways, entries, steps, decks or patios, around the pool, and more!

   • While not all landscape lighting projects will require additional electrical wiring or the expertise of an electrician, all should be completed by a qualified contractor at a minimum.
