When creating the ultimate bathroom one thing on many people’s “must have” lists is a great shower. This can mean a lot of different things to different people. Your variety of options will depend on how much space you have but even in a relatively small bathroom you can have an incredible shower. So what constitutes a “dream shower?” For most people, this means a walk-in shower. A tub/shower combo can be very nice but it does not necessarily scream luxury. A walk-in shower is an ideal choice for many reasons, not least of which is the “wow factor.”
There are many kinds of walk-in showers to suit any personal taste and preference. A walk in shower can be large or small. It can be wall to wall glass, it can have a short pony wall, it can be completely enclosed, and it can have no door. All of these options have their pros and cons. A shower with all-glass walls is beautiful, open and makes a statement. But, if privacy is what you are looking for – an all-glass shower is not something that will offer much privacy. If you want to maintain that open feel of glass but want some privacy the best option is a pony wall with glass above. This will allow you to see out or others to see in with less exposure. You can enclose your shower with a wall or glass and a door to support features such as a steam-shower or to enhance comfort while in the shower. But if you are low on space or just prefer a free and open feel to your shower than you can choose a door-less shower. Additionally, with a walk-in shower you can add many features such as a rain head, and additional adjustable spray heads at body-height. You can also turn your shower into a steam shower, making your bathroom into your very own personal spa.
Beauty and fun features are not the only reasons to install a walk-in shower, though. A walk-in shower is also a shower that can age with you and is ideal for individuals with physical handicaps. Climbing in and out of a tub/shower combination is difficult and sometimes just not possible but with a walk-in shower, taking a shower is made easy for any physical ability level. Additionally, walk-in showers are usually open and often spacious which makes them much easier to clean. The benefits of a walk-in shower are truly endless and are a wise investment and addition to any bathroom.
