Having trouble finding extra storage space for a small bathroom? You don’t necessarily have to extend or increase the size of your bathroom; you can squeeze in a little extra storage space by installing small fittings and adjustments. Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie lists four ways you can do this.
Install a small shelf above your sink area where you can place your toiletries, such as your hand soap, toothpaste, and toothbrush. We recommend using glass for the shelf material so that it will blend well with the overall design of your bathroom. Avoid using wood since it doesn’t have good water resistance.
If you have extra spice racks lying around, we recommend installing these in your bathroom and turn them into holders for your toiletries, shampoo, or even makeup. If you have wooden spice holders, we suggest installing them farther away from the areas that will most likely get wet. Alternatively, you can use plastic or vinyl spice racks instead.
Replace your old mirror and install a medical cabinet above the sink. You don’t necessarily have to fill it with medicine; in fact, you can turn it into a mini-vanity where you can place your makeup, extra toiletries, and other bathroom essentials.
There’s plenty of space above the toilet’s mantle and you should take advantage of it if you want to increase your bathroom’s storage space. Depending on the actual size of the space available, you can install a shelf or a cabinet. It’s all up to you.
