Tips for Preparing Your Home for Your Holiday Guests

The holidays are coming up soon so you need to get your home ready for visitors. Preparing early can help you avoid a lot of headaches in the weeks to come.

Entryway

If you are expecting a lot of guests to come over, then you need to establish a place to collect their boots and warm weather clothing. Add extra hangers to your closet and/or an extra doormat for wet boots. You should also make sure that all of your outdoor lighting is functioning properly and that all of your porches and walkways are free of snow and ice.

Bathrooms

You want your bathrooms to look fresh and nice for your guests. If your tiles look bad, then consider replacing them or using new grout. You should also clean your bathroom and make sure that you have enough bath towels and hand towels for your guests. Make sure that your bathroom fan or the windows are operating properly to ensure good ventilation.

Guestrooms

Your guest rooms should have fresh linens for your visitors. You also have to clear some closet space and remove personal items from the guest rooms to make your visitors feel at home. They need space for their clothes and other items. It’s a good idea to provide your guests with a reading lamp and a bedside clock as well. They’ll appreciate the gesture.
