Bathroom Cleaning 101: Tools You Need

Cleaning a bathroom is an ongoing chore, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Keep these tools handy to make it easy to regularly maintain your bath area.

  • Toilet brush
  • Toilet bowl cleaner
  • Tile and grout cleaner
  • Grout brush or old toothbrush
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Warm water mixed with mild dishwashing soap (for stone counters)

It’s important to dedicate a toilet brush to each toilet to control the spread of germs and keep the toilet bowl stain-free. When tackling grout lines on the bathroom floor and in the shower, use a grout brush or an old toothbrush with firm bristles. An all-purpose cleaner can be used to disinfect counters, sinks and other hard surfaces. If you have countertops made of granite, marble or another type of stone, be sure to use only mild dish soap and warm water for cleaning; other cleaning chemicals could break down the stone’s seal over time.
