Painting / October 24, 2022
There are many things to think about when picking the right color to paint the inside of your home. We’ll cover the basics below, but you should do your own research before making any decisions.
Most paint comes with two finishes: flat and glossy. Most of the time, flat finish paint is cheaper than gloss paint because it doesn’t have the same high shine. However, depending on how you want to light the room, one may look better than the other. Glossy paint reflects light and makes a room look brighter, while matte paint absorbs light. Warmer (and sometimes darker) tones can make a room look smaller. Depending on the room you want to change, choose the type of paint you want to use. Choose lighter colors to make a small room look bigger and choose darker colors to make the room feel more cozy and warm.
The next step in choosing paint colors for an interior is to choose colors that go well together. If you want a modern look, try putting grays, blacks, and whites next to the main color. Use colors that go together, like red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple, for classic themes. Neutral color schemes work well with grays, browns, and whites.
