Which Type of Pool Fence is Best for Your Home?

Pool safety is incredibly important for any home, in any state, that has a pool.  In Phoenix we are acutely aware of just how important this fact is.  Phoenix pool fence installation is critical for any home that has children or where children might visit (and is never a bad idea even for homes where there are no children).  As a Phoenix contractor and pool fence installer, we know just how important it is for a homeowner to not just install a pool fence but one that is appropriate for their unique home and pool.  Every home is different and there are a myriad of pool fences from which to choose so choosing the best pool fence for your needs is important.  Some homeowners do not want to install a pool fence because they feel it will detract from the overall aesthetic appeal of their landscape but there are options for every homeowner and their aesthetic preferences.

When it comes to pool fences there are both permanent and semi-permanent options.  Most homes install either vertical bar fencing typically made of wrought iron, vinyl, aluminum, or wood, mesh pool fencing, or glass panel fencing.  Wrought iron pool fences are beautiful but they tend to be the most expensive pool fence options.  Additionally, they are susceptible to rust so be sure to take regular care of them and refinish/repaint if necessary to protect the structural integrity of the fence.  Aluminum pool fencing is another popular vertical bar fence option and is less expensive than wrought iron.

The other popular residential pool fencing option is removable mesh pool fencing.  Mesh pool fencing is a nice option as well because the mesh is available in different colors and can be easily seen through, making it more aesthetically appealing.  The mesh fence posts simply pocket into holes in the ground so they can be easily installed or removed whenever necessary.  Mesh pool fences are less sturdy than a permanent pool fence option but they are also more difficult to climb which makes them more safe in some respects.  There are different latch options for mesh pool fences if you choose this option.  Mesh pool fences tend to be a less expensive pool options so they are an affordable option if you are on the fence about wanting to invest in a pool fence. Determining which option is best for you will depend on the frequency with which you will want your pool fence up and operational.

Glass panel fencing is beautiful, aesthetically appealing, virtually indestructible, and not always the most expensive option.  Made of tempered glass, they will withstand weather and use and will not shatter by your pool.  If you have a wonderful view from your yard, glass panel pool fencing may be ideal so that you do not obstruct your view. In addition to choosing fence material you will also need to determine which height is best.  Most recommendations or requirements are that your pool fence should be at least 4ft tall.  Consult with your contractor to determine which type o pool fence is best for your home.
