Building a backyard fire pit is a little more than lying down some bricks and lighting a fire. If you would like to build a fire pit in your very own backyard, here are some tips on how you can complete that process to enjoy that warm fire in no time. Keep on reading to learn more.
Bricks come in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials, and textures. Rectangular or square can make a square or rectangular fire pit while trapezoidal bricks can make a circular fire pit.
First spray paint where you would like your ring to go. Dig this area out several inches deep and tamp level. Fill the hole with gravel a few inches short of the surface, wet with water, then tamp down again. Begin placing your bricks. Use sand to lift and fill in gaps or tamp bricks down with your rubber mallet to make even. Once the bricks are laid out, make sure the fire ring fits. Next, use your adhesive to secure the bricks in place. Check the adhesive’s packaging to see how long it must cure before the fire can be used.
As you begin this process, be sure to check with your local fire safety codes and your insurance to make sure there is no stipulations about lighting a fire on your property. If all is clear and ready to go, build your fire pit with these useful tips and enjoy the entertainment it brings!
