Important Announcement to Our Valued Customers!

Announcement

Dear Valued Customer,

Handyman Connection of Mountain View is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers. We know that our customers have a choice, and we are grateful for your continued partnership.

For the past several years, Handyman Connection of Mountain View has been absorbing processing and transaction fees related to payments made by credit card. Unfortunately, our costs for credit card acceptance have continued to rise. Credit card rates have continued to skyrocket over the last few years, and more and more credit cards are run with the card not present (phone transactions, etc.). “Card not present” transactions also increase the rate we are charged. The use of credit cards to pay bills has also increased significantly.

Effective April 1, 2023, we will begin adding a 3% convenience fee for all credit card payments. The fee with be added to payments made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover to offset the fees charged by the card companies. In accordance with credit card network rules, Handyman Connection of Mountain View cannot profit from this fee, and it does not exceed our expenses associated with accepting credit card payments.

Payments made by check, electronic payment (ACH/EFT), wire, or debit card will not be charged the convenience fee.

We thank you for your understanding as we implement this fee and offset some of the increased inflationary costs we are all incurring. We are happy to work with you on alternate payment options.

Sincerely,

George Brisker

Top 5 Home Improvement Jobs to Boost Your Home’s Resale Value

As a homeowner, every change you make to your house has to made with its resale value in mind. You don’t have to make updates just for that purpose, but it’s a consideration that you can’t ignore. If you’re thinking about making a few upgrades, here are a few home improvement ideas that will benefit your home’s value whenever it comes time to sell.

1.  Curb Appeal Is Essential to Home Improvement

There are a variety of reasons to update the look of your home. You do it for yourself because you want a lovely home, and you do it for your finances because you want that home to be worth more. A new paint job is a great way to upgrade your home’s look, as is taking a new approach to your landscaping.

2. Keep Up With Maintenance

Maintaining all aspects of your home will save you money on unnecessary repairs while also keeping your house ready to be sold. Have you had an expert inspect your roof lately? How old are your furnace and water heater? These are the kinds of home improvement fixes which are better addressed sooner rather than later.

3. Home Buyers Love Efficient Homes

Makes sense, right? Who doesn’t love efficiency? There are several steps you can take to save money while increasing your home’s value. Installing double-paned windows can cut heating expenses by 10%, and you can nab additional savings by replacing your current lighting with LEDs, and replacing your appliances with more efficient models.

4. Make Additions

Expanding the size of your home is a big step, but the cost can be more than made up for in increased resale value. Adding a room can make a big difference, but there are smaller steps you can take like building a deck or finishing a basement.

5. Add Smart Technologies

Home buyers love modern homes. Replacing your thermostat with a smart version will save money for both you and future homeowners, and home buyers are impressed by other additions like security cameras and smart lighting. The difference these can make in your home’s value may not be clear right away, but they add appeal and are not terribly expensive.
