All you need to do is place is a battery-operated “candle” in each mason jar. From there, just flip the switch and you’re good to go! If you’re feeling a little more creative, you can tint the mason jars to match the theme of your backyard.

Revamped Tiki Torches

One of the classic ways to light up your backyard has always been to light some tiki torches. By adding some fresh paint or wrapping some stringed lights around them, you can quickly revamp your old looking tiki torches. Feel free to also add some natural greenery around the bottom of the torches to blend them into your yard and give them that complete look.

Glowing Planters

Want to get your kids involved in all the fun? An easy way to do so is to get some glow in the dark paint and paint any planters around your yard. You can paint the entire planter, or you can get a little creative and paint some unique designs to match the theme of your yard.

Light Runner with Bottles

Are you one to recycle? If so, you can actually use old beer or wine bottles and turn them into light fixtures. Once you’ve cleaned the bottles, all you have to do is run lights through each one. You now have a DIY lighting choice for your backyard.

Tin Can Lanterns

By recycling some old cans, you can create some great lighting fixtures. After you’ve cleaned them and made sure all the odors are gone, spray paint them with colors to match your yard’s theme. After the paint has dried, poke a few holes into the cans. The holes can be for practical use, or you can poke holes into shapes and patterns. Lastly, place a battery-operated light in them. Now you’re ready to place them or hang them around the backyard.
