Best Colors to Paint a Kitchen

When you think about remodeling your kitchen, the paint colors might be one of the first things that comes to mind. Painting is just one of many things included in kitchen remodeling services, and in a lot of ways it might seem like the easiest. However, choosing a pleasing color that goes well with your existing fixtures is essential.

Luckily, Handyman Connection of Carmel has put together a selection of tried and true kitchen colors that work well in kitchens of all types.

Five Color Options to Paint Your Kitchen

Gray

Gray is a safe, neutral color that goes well with pretty much everything without being too bland. There’s different shades to choose from depending on what you’re looking for. Lighter grays will go well with darker countertops and appliances, while darker grays will look great when paired with off-white cabinets.

Yellow

On the other end of the spectrum, a yellow or off-yellow color can really brighten up a darker kitchen that lacks natural light. Yellow will work well with white or similarly colored cabinets, countertops, and even appliances. Otherwise, you can always pair the color with hardwood cabinets and floors to create a warm tone.

Blue

Blue is a very calming color, but should be used in conjunction with other, lighter colors. When paired with dark countertops, blue can be overwhelming. Consider using white countertops and stainless steel appliances with different shades of blue to add depth and contrast to your kitchen.

Red

Red might not be the first color to come to mind when you’re painting your kitchen, but it can be a wonderful accent color to add warmth to any space that might feel plain. As a solo color, red goes well with black appliances and hardwood cabinets. For the countertops, consider a lighter colored pattern to give some contrast to the darker tone.

White

When in doubt, white paint is one of the most commonly used colors for kitchen paint. It goes well with everything and allows you to get creative with your countertops, cabinets and appliances. Traditional but reliable, a paper white color can create a very bright atmosphere while an off-white cream color can be more relaxed.

Kitchen remodeling services might include testing different colors against your cabinets and appliances, and vice versa. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the colors as you design your new kitchen.
