Pick where the fire pit will go, and spray paint the shape on the ground. Remove sod and dirt up to seven inches deep and tamp level when done.

Step 4

Fill the hole with crushed gravel and water down with a garden hose. Tamp level so it is a few inches from the surface.

Step 5

Lay your bricks. Use sand to lift blocks, and a rubber mallet to tamp down as needed. Make sure the fire ring fits then begin to apply adhesive. Your adhesive will need to be set and cured for a few days so be sure to read the labeling on its packaging before you use the fire pit.
